Crank Yankers was coming back for their 6th season on Comedy Central.
Much like all campaigns during the pandemic, getting a photoshoot was not an option.
We had to hit the ground running fast and hard and use previous season’s photography while still making it different from what was shown before.
We wanted to be loud and bold with the new creative. The on-air team had the idea of using Metallica’s Master of Puppets as a device for their promos.
I was tasked to create a look for the print side while working with the motion director to make sure everything was cohesive. I’ve decided to place them in a stage with large speakers to convey that this season, they’re cranking it up.
Since we couldn’t have a shoot, we decided to use existing photography from the previous campaign and comped them together.
These are a few examples of when I was making my initial designs and the progress before going out to the retoucher.
